The Parrot
Conservation Trust
The
Parrot Conservation Trust is a non profit charitable organization
dedicated to the long term care of large parrots. the trust operates a
parrot rescue facility or sanctuary that provides for the needs and care
of many large Macaws that have become more than their owners can handle.
We adopt parrots and provide a happy healthy environment. Some of these
birds have lived many years in cages and have not been cared for a well
as they should have been. Therefore the Trust does not sell or place these
birds up for adoption into other homes. The birds are re-educated to be
parrots again and live within a large flock of other parrots enjoying
life with dignity and respect, free to socialize with other birds and
choose a suitable mate. Keeping a large and diverse flock of parrots makes
all this possible. The trust provides an ecological lifeboat for these
very special animals. We need your help in any amount.
Tax deductible donations may be made to: The Parrot Conservation Trust

The Parrot Conservation trust maintains the largest private collection
of Macaw parrots in Orange County California. We work with all the birds
and socialize them in an environment of love and affection with room to
spare in a large open aviary. Many of these birds are hand tame and crave
affection from humans that they love and trust. Parrots4Parties enables
the trust to cover some of its $1000 a month parrot food bill. The Parrots
also require a lot of labor and other costs associated with their long
term care including veterinarian needs. Any donation to the trust will
go completely to the care of the Parrots and is greatly appreciated.
The Trust also works to establish breeding pairs of rare and endangered
species of parrots such as Buffy, Honey and Sweetie, (below) Buffons Macaws
pictured here. The trust is a non profit organization that operates solely
for the interests of these birds and its large flock of parrots and their
long term care.
The
Trust works to keep and breed rare and endangered macaws such as the Buffons
Macaws pictured here. The Trust presently has three Buffons Macaws also
known as the Great Grean Macaw. There are thought to be less than three
hundred of these parrots left in the world. The Trust hopes to breed these
birds and arrange to provide Buffons Macaw babies to zoos and breeding
organizations that are engaged in conservation projects to save these
species. We are presently looking for another male Buffons macaw and a
female blue throated macaw to round out our flock.
The
South American habitat of these species is vanishing to farms and the
ever spreading developments of mankind. Breeding programs are the last
line of defense these birds have against extinction.
The Trust now has twenty four large macaw parrots as well
many smaller parrots and cockatoos. The cost to feed this many large birds
is considerable, therefore, Parrots for Parties provides hand tame, friendly
macaw parrots for events, live shows, and print photography as well as
film and video production in Hollywood and Southern California. A healthy
Macaw kept in captivity will live much longer than in the wild. The Trust
is intended to maintain the integrity of a highly socialized flock for
a century and beyond. Breeding programs for birds like the highly endanged
Buffon's Macaw will help add to the endangered species gene pool by distributing
parrots with the required DNA to other breeding programs. Any money donated
to The Parrot Conservation Trust is tax deductible. We gladly accept donations
of any amount. All funds are directed entirely toward the long term care
of this flock and their offspring. Checks should be payable to: The Parrot
Conservation Trust or to Kelley Wise - Trustee.
